Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PoolZen LLC, doing business as Fourcast ("Fourcast," "we"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Fourcast app and fourcast-app.com (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
You provide:
Account info: name, email address, profile photo (optional), Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.
Golf data: scores, rounds, group memberships, handicap information entered by you, and side-game ledger entries (informational amounts among your group — never payment data).
Content: group names, photos, and messages you post.
Support communications.
Collected automatically:
Device and usage data: device type, OS, app version, IP address, log data, and basic analytics events.
Approximate location only if you grant permission, used for course selection and weather. We do not track background location.
From third parties: authentication providers (Google) share your name, email, and avatar when you sign in. Payment processors (Apple, Google, Stripe) confirm subscription status; we never receive or store your full payment card number.
We do not collect: payment card numbers, government IDs, precise health data, or contacts (unless you explicitly share an invite).
2. How We Use Information
To operate the Service (accounts, groups, scores, standings, ledgers, weather); to process subscriptions; to communicate with you about the Service; to maintain safety and prevent abuse; to debug and improve features; and to comply with law. We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.
3. How We Share Information
With your group: your name, photo, scores, standings, and ledger entries are visible to members of the groups you join — that's the point of the app.
Service providers who host and operate the Service under contract: Supabase (database/auth/storage), Vercel (web hosting), Railway (backend services), Apple/Google/Stripe (subscriptions), and Apple WeatherKit (weather). Each processes data only on our instructions.
Legal: if required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
Business transfer: if Fourcast is acquired or merged, data may transfer with notice to you.
We do not share with data brokers or advertisers.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by emailing support@fourcast-app.com. Deletion permanently removes your account and personal data within 30 days, except: (a) records we must keep for legal or tax reasons; (b) group records (such as a completed round's scores) may be retained in de-identified or attributed-to-"Former Member" form so other members' records stay intact; (c) backup copies purge on our provider's backup cycle (up to 35 days).
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising (we do none of these). To exercise any right, email support@fourcast-app.com or use in-app controls. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by your state's law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising rights. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our hosting providers. Access is restricted by row-level security policies so users can only access their own groups' data. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you and regulators of a breach as required by law.
7. Children
The Service is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 (and never under 13). If we learn we have, we will delete it — contact support@fourcast-app.com.
8. Location of Processing
We are US-based, and data is processed in the United States. The Service is intended for US users.
9. Do Not Track / Opt-Out Signals
The Service does not use cross-site tracking. Where required, we honor browser opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) for any applicable sharing — currently none.
10. Changes
We will post updates here and update the effective date; material changes will be notified in-app or by email.
